MSP Commercial has officially relocated from Eagan to Richfield, just south of Highway 62 on Penn Ave.
Partnering with Pope Design Group and Fixed Assets, MSP’s Project Management team started working on this repositioning project late last year. Demolition started in March of 2023, with construction following shortly thereafter.
Originally built in 1956, the 9,300 square foot building is a collection of four additions added to an original core building, creating a challenging, one-of-a-kind office layout.
Intent on embracing the history and style of the building, many structural and architectural components were retained during the design process including upgrading four overhead garage doors – three exterior and one interior. Once used for access when the building housed a HVAC manufacturing company, these glass overhead doors now bring in light and open a dining area and a turf-carpeted arcade/recreation area to the outdoors.
Fixtures and finishes also incorporate and embrace the building’s past. In addition to exterior asymmetrical glazing, the interior boasts exposed elements like concrete block, cement flooring and open ceilings. Dome accent lighting, linear textiles, geometric patterns, and pops of bright greens and yellows create a inviting mid-century modern inspired atmosphere.
Built for growth and collaboration, the open office areas feature cubicle pod systems with centered “team-up” tables, as well as multiple video-conferencing equipped conference rooms. The space also features many alternative workstation touch-down areas for staff and partners to utilize, like shared private office space, lounge areas featuring couches and chairs, and semi-private booths. |
